Molly's Dead

Yesterday began quietly until Molly Cat came in and yammered and couldn't move her hind legs. Turns out she'd had an embolism in the artery that supplies blood to her hind legs and the vet could do nothing but put her to sleep.

She's now in a small grave in our garden.

She'd been with us for about four years and we believe she was a gift. She came in through the study window and made herself at home. We think she was about nine years old.

Back again

Dunno – Obama nails Osama should be today's headlines. Once again the U⚡⚡A invades another country and kills people. I'm so tired of this country's unilateral use of force. Drone killlings, "special ops" teams' killings. Civilian dead. Collateral damage. WTF is wrong with U⚡⚡A??

Where's the justice in a firefight? I'd'a thought a court trial would have been the way to go – somewhere where a jury of his peers could be raised and out of the sphere of influence of the various nasty agencies from within and without the Beltway.

So justice has not been served. Revenge has.

Pano

Here's a quick pano done Saturday. ICE did the trick better than messing with hugin, but perhaps I just didn't work enough on the hugin pano. I packed it in after about an hour's messing. OK so the whole ball of wax is hand held and an attempt at 180 of degrees view. Still, the ICE rendering worked better with less hassle than the hugin attempts. The two hugin panos were rendered first as normal and then as normal blended and "enfused" blended.

Going Digital

For years I've been talking pictures with film. That's changed lately. I've gone digital. After fooling around with my son's Kodak camera I decided to purchase a Nikon D40. Nikon because I've already got a film Nikon and assorted lenses and am not interested in losing the use of that glass.

The little D40 is an ideal companion on my travels throughout the City and I've been pleased with its performance. I shoot jpeg in normal quality and this seems to be fine for the panoramas I've been after of late.
